The older I get, the more aware I am of my skin’s needs. Aging has also opened my eyes to how dreadful the Philippine weather is to skincare.
I have dry skin, and it doesn’t help that my genes make me prone to itchiness and skin allergies. The weather makes skincare more difficult for me.
The Product Dilemma
Over the years, I learned the importance of skin hydration and moisturizer. If I can’t apply one for the day, I can expect my skin to crack the next. If I am going to spend a lot of hours under the heat of the sun, my skin doesn’t only crack; it also turns red and itchy, making me prone to infections.
My moisturizer, however, is cheap. As they say, you get your money’s worth. I had to reapply it multiple times during the day. Upon the recommendation of a friend, I decided to try the day cream for dry skin from Black Pearl Cosmetics Philippines by Sea of Spa.
The Enlightenment
To be honest, I was hesitant to buy it because it’s expensive. But my desire to have a single reliable product to end my dry-skin problems is stronger. I bought the 1.7-ounce product and gave it a try.
I was — and still am — pleasantly surprised by the quality. First, the texture is smooth but not oily, which is awesome since my skin tends to break out as well. It is also not too greasy or thick that you’ll feel sticky during a humid day.
The hydration is excellent. It stays on the skin for hours, and I don’t even have to use a lot of it. I just have to dab a finger and apply it throughout my face and neck. Thus, a single purchase can last me many weeks. It is not a substitute for sunscreen, but it also contains a sun filter.
I can’t say yet if the product can truly prevent the formation of wrinkles as the reviews mentioned. I am still in my mid-20s. But, what I can share is I’ve never felt my face feel this smooth and supple to touch. It looks brighter as well since this product can help remove dirt.
I think anyone who wants to avoid the issues that come with dry skin should be willing to spend for a product that’s of value. For me, this is it, and I’ve never been happier with a purchase.
