My skincare routine used to be limited to the basics — cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. I was satisfied with my routine, although I experienced breakouts from time to time. I wasn’t adventurous with other products because I was afraid they might irritate and damage my skin. At least, that’s what I hear from people I know are following an extensive skincare routine.
Recently, however, I realized my skin started to look dull. I blame stress and pollution. I was really down in the dumps about and asked my friends for advice based on their personal skincare experiences. One of them, who is a skincare junkie, suggested exfoliating my skin. She was really convinced it could help with my skin issue, but I was hesitant to do so at first because it meant using more chemicals on my skin.
After reading a review about the Kedma skincare exfoliating facial mask, though, I decided to follow my friend’s advice.
Exfoliation Promotes Smoother Skin
Upon researching about exfoliation, I learned that it helps remove dead skin cells from the skin surface through a granular substance, chemical, or exfoliation tool. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), however, emphasizes that exfoliation is not for everyone. It can also cause harm to the skin if not done correctly.
Proper exfoliation improves the appearance of the skin and makes it look brighter. The skin would also absorb other topical skin care products better, making them more effective. Exfoliation helps prevent clogged pores if done regularly. This could reduce the risk of breaking out.
Additionally, exfoliating promotes more collagen production in the long run. Collagen is a substance that contributes to maintaining one’s glowing, vibrant skin. It also keeps skin elastic to reduce the appearance of fine lines
A Must-Try Exfoliating Product
Exfoliants are not new to skincare savvy individuals. You can find them in most drugstores and skin care shops. They come in various forms and contain different active ingredients. Not all of them work for every skin type, however. It’s essential to identify what your skin needs to find the right exfoliating product.
The AAD explains that skin types react differently after using a product. You should know your skin type to determine what kind of exfoliant would work for you. If you have dry skin like me, products with milder chemical is an ideal option. Stronger chemicals are more suitable for those with oily and thicker skin.
As mentioned, I’m using the Kedma Exfoliating Facial Mask. It contains Dead Sea minerals and Walnut Shell Powder, Chamomile Extract, and Jojoba Oil. These ingredients work together to rejuvenate the complexion on and below the surface of the skin, making it soft and silky.
Dead Sea minerals offer several incredible benefits, particularly on the skin. The Dead Sea is rich in minerals like magnesium, potassium, and sodium. Using Dead Sea mud mask helps eliminate impurities and dead skin, improving dry skin. It also makes the skin more elastic and a better barrier.
The product promises to rejuvenate and renew the skin quickly. I have been using the exfoliating mask for more than two months and I already see the results on my skin. Although the improvement didn’t come as fast as promised, my skin is now softer and brighter than before. It no longer looks tired and dull.
The exfoliating mask works well with my dry, almost sensitive skin. I don’t feel irritation every time I use it. I also like that it doesn’t have an overpowering smell; I’m not fond of highly scented skincare products.
How often should You Exfoliate?
Timing is crucial when exfoliating. How often you should exfoliate depends on our skin type. For dry and sensitive skin, only exfoliate once or twice a week. If you have oily skin, however, you can exfoliate a little more.
I typically use the Kedma product once a week only, particularly on Friday nights. It’s my way of giving my skin a treat after a long week of working and exposure to pollutants. If I need to attend an event or a special occasion, I exfoliate as well. It makes me look fresh and energized throughout the event. Applying makeup on soft, smooth skin is also easier.
The application of the product is simple, as well. I apply the mask on my face evenly in a gentle, circular motion. I leave it on for three to five minutes. While I wait, I usually sit on my bed and read or I tidy up my room to prepare to sleep. After about five minutes, I rinse the mask off my face using warm water. I pat my face with a clean towel to dry, and then I apply a moisturizer.
Be Gentle on Your Skin
In general, I’m glad to have stepped out of my comfort zone in terms of skincare and stopped limiting myself to only using a cleanser. My skin deserves more TLC than that, given all the stress and environmental factors that make my skin dull.
If you’re new to exfoliation, like I am, remember to introduce the product to your skin slowly. Observe how your skin would react to the new addition to your arsenal. Don’t use harsh chemicals right away, especially if you’re unsure of your skin type. A dermatologist can assist you in identifying what kind of exfoliating product would suit your skin.
Building a more comprehensive skincare routine is an investment. Be smart about buying products to make the most of them. The ingredients of each product should work well together to deliver results and avoid developing skin problems.
I’m satisfied with Kedma Exfoliating Facial Mask’s effects on my skin. Since I started using this product, my skin feels clean and soft. I didn’t experience negative reactions when I incorporated it to my regular skin care routine, which makes me want to try other Kedma products.
I recommend this product to those who want to revitalize their skin to make it smoother and brighter. The product is an incredible introduction to exfoliation for me. But the results could vary depending on the user! You might experience different reactions. I’m also open to trying other exfoliants to see if they make a difference.
If you have tried the exfoliating mask or other Kedma products, feel free to share your experience. I’m interested in your insights and recommendations.
